Frequently Asked Questions

What video formats are supported?

We support most common video formats including MP4, WebM, and MOV. The maximum file size limit is 2GB.

Which languages are supported for translation?

Our service supports translation between major languages including English, Chinese, Spanish, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Portuguese, and Arabic. Select the source language before transcription for the most accurate result.

How does the translation process work?

The process works in several steps: 1. We extract the audio from your video 2. Convert the speech to text using advanced AI 3. Translate the text to your desired language 4. Generate subtitles in SRT format 5. Merge the subtitles with your original video The entire process is automated and typically takes a few minutes depending on video length.

What subtitle formats are available?

We provide subtitles in three formats: - Original language only - Translated language only - Bilingual (both languages) All subtitles are provided in SRT format which is widely compatible with video players and editing software.

How accurate are the translations?

We use state-of-the-art AI models (Whisper and ChatGPT) for transcription and translation. While the accuracy is generally very high, it may vary depending on factors like audio quality, background noise, and language complexity. You can always edit the generated subtitles before rendering the final video.

How is my video data handled?

We take privacy seriously. Your videos are processed entirely in your browser using WebAssembly technology. The audio is extracted locally and only the audio is sent to our servers for transcription and translation. We do not store your videos or processed results permanently.

Can I download the translated video and subtitles?

Yes! You can download: - The final video with embedded subtitles - Original language SRT file - Translated language SRT file - Bilingual SRT file This gives you full flexibility to use the translations in your preferred way.

Will the video quality be affected?

We maintain high video quality while keeping file sizes manageable. The video is processed using efficient compression settings that balance quality and file size. The original video resolution is preserved, and only the subtitle overlay is added to the final output.

What happens if I select the same language for source and target?

When the source and target languages are the same, the system will only generate subtitles in that language without performing any translation. This is useful if you just want to add subtitles to your video in its original language.
