The process works in several steps: 1. We extract the audio from your video 2. Convert the speech to text using advanced AI 3. Translate the text to your desired language 4. Generate subtitles in SRT format 5. Merge the subtitles with your original video. The entire process is automated and typically takes a few minutes depending on video length.
We provide subtitles in three views: original language only, translated language only, or bilingual (both languages). Download them as SRT, VTT, TXT, ASS, JSON, CSV, DOCX files, which are widely compatible with video players and editing software.
We use state-of-the-art AI models (Whisper and ChatGPT) for transcription and translation. While the accuracy is generally very high, it may vary depending on factors like audio quality, background noise, and language complexity. You can always edit the generated subtitles before rendering the final video.
Your source video is uploaded to a private Cloudflare R2 bucket so cloud transcription and rendering can continue after you close the browser. Source video, extracted audio and generated voice tracks are temporary and automatically deleted after 7 days (rendered videos after 3 days); subtitle task data remains available in your account history.

We maintain high video quality while keeping file sizes manageable. The video is processed using efficient compression settings that balance quality and file size. The original video resolution is preserved, and only the subtitle overlay is added to the final output.
When the source and target languages are the same, the system will only generate subtitles in that language without performing any translation. This is useful if you just want to add subtitles to your video in its original language.
